Rabbaya Naseer &
Hurmat Ul Ain
Rabbya Naseer (b.1984, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, lives and works in Lahore, Pakistan) and Hurmat Ul Ain (b. 1984 in Karachi, Pakistan, lives and works in Islamabad, Pakistan) are interdisciplinary artists and art educationists from Pakistan. Alongside their independent practices, they have been working collaboratively since 2007. They each have a BFA from National College of Arts, Lahore and a Masters from School of The Art Institute Chicago, where they were studying as Fulbright Scholars. Their collaborative works as well as independent practices have been shown in Pakistan, India, USA, UK, Dubai, China, Japan, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, and Australia. Their work is performative in nature with a keen interest in the body and the notion of embodiment as a medium and tool for art making.
Naseer, alongside her artistic & teaching practice is also curating performance art and currently working on compiling an archive of performance art from Pakistan. Ain, is a member of an art collective from Islamabad and has been teaching, building curriculum and curating structures for academic archiving at School of Art, Design, and Architecture (NUST) in Islamabad since 2011.
